Reimagine Sac

REIMAGINE SAC

The Sacramento region is home to many unique, diverse neighborhoods and business corridors, many of which are becoming industry hubs and economic drivers for growth. As we focus on accelerating an inclusive recovery, the region is reimagining the way it approaches economic development, placing an emphasis on developing its diverse commercial corridors and underrepresented areas.

Reimagine Sac will spotlight these neighborhoods and investment opportunities needed to move our communities forward.

CALIFORNIA JOBS FIRST

The California Jobs First program will invest $600 million into communities impacted by the pandemic – and the SacAsian Chamber is leading efforts to ensure that diverse communities in Sacramento and Yolo Counties are engaged from the start. With more than 36,000 businesses (2021) in Sacramento and Yolo Counties combined, local businesses make their mark on California’s economy every day. This is a chance to widen that impact and uplift everyone in our region.

At the SacAsian Chamber, we believe a strong business community benefits all. Our mission is to empower businesses of all sizes to thrive, and to do everything in our power to make sure everyone has equal opportunity to do so. With a strong network of partners and 30 years of empowering the business community, we are ready to drive new transformation in our region – together.

Your Part in Shaping the Region's Future

With insight from our business community, and under the leadership of Valley Vision, the SacAsian Chamber aims to reinvest California Jobs First funding where the most positive impacts can be made. For small business owners, this opportunity means visibility, advocacy, and having a strong voice in our region’s economic future.

ENGAGE IN THE PROCESS

The future is bright, but we need small business owners to help guide our path there. To contribute to these discussions, entrepreneurs and business owners can join the SacAsian Chamber’s Sacramento-Yolo Business Growth Convenings. These gatherings are designed to:

  • Provide actionable strategies for business growth.
  • Facilitate meaningful connections with local stakeholders.
  • Offer resources and support to overcome business challenges.
  • Highlight the crucial role of small businesses in our subregion’s development.
  • Elevate your business’s visibility in the local business ecosystem.

SOUTH SACRAMENTO

South Sacramento is a vibrant community and business corridor, especially along Mack Road, Stockton Boulevard, Franklin Road, and Florin Road Corridors. The cultural diversity of the communities in South Sac have created a one-of-a-kind business and events experience, with new shops opening up frequently and other long-term businesses celebrating landmark anniversaries. While South Sac is often stereotyped as unsafe or undesirable, several community organizations are working to change the narrative and showcase the lively, tight-knit community in these neighborhoods and the work being done to make South Sac a more welcoming place to call home.

To evolve into the thriving area South Sacramentans envision, the area needs adequate investment and development. In this iteration of #ReimagineSac, we’re showcasing the businesses and people who believe in the best version of South Sac, and share the needs and opportunities that will bring that vision to life.

DEL PASO BOULEVARD

Del Paso Boulevard is a burgeoning business corridor in North Sacramento. With street-level retail, a growing creative scene, and food and drink establishments that rival any in the area, this vibrant corridor is quickly establishing itself as a place to live, work, and play. It’s just missing one key element – people. The Boulevard is filled with motivated community leaders and business owners, but housing projects have struggled to gain traction.

We have partnered with the Del Paso Boulevard Partnership to showcase the businesses and people that make this a lively, culturally rich community, and share the needs and opportunities that can make the Del Paso Boulevard corridor the next big thing in Sacramento.

BUILDING A COMMUNITY

The Del Paso Boulevard Partnership is actively working to revitalize the Boulevard, support small business growth, and keep the community clean and safe. They’re also strong advocates for driving more people and housing to the area.

“If more people lived on Del Paso Blvd, say 500 more, what would that mean for a small café or restaurant? We have been strong advocates for building more housing along Del Paso Blvd and Arden Way and we see it as an economic development strategy,” says Daniel Savala, Del Paso Boulevard Partnership’s Executive Director.

Support the Partnership by exploring and patronizing the businesses along the corridor. Follow their revitalization efforts by joining their newsletter and following their social media accounts.
