Doing what you love is what small business owner Jovan Samonte is an expert at.

Everyone loves taking selfies at an NBA game or at the super hip new restaurant down the street. We love to connect with each other and share our experiences through photos that capture a feeling and a memory. However, Samonte turned this passion into his business: PremiumShotz.

PremiumShotz is all about the art of connection. Samonte said, “We are a minority and service-disabled veteran small business that works closely with our clients to understand their vision and develop a custom-tailored approach that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations.”

After leaving the Navy, Samonte founded PremiumShotz, a photo and video production company that specializes in creating one-of-a-kind and lively experiences for their clientele. The small business grew quickly and rose to multi-state status after the company opened in 2017. Since then, PremiumShotz has celebrated multiple major milestones.

“When we started in 2017, we started doing weddings, birthdays, and small social events,” Samonte said. “In 2018, we started establishing long term relationships with clients such as the Golden State Warriors, Anthropologie, Saks Fifth Ave, Dave & Busters, and Sutter Health to name a few. In 2020, we were providing custom photo and video experiences on a global level in Poland and Ireland.”

Although PremiumShotz came from humble beginnings, the business has made its mark. According to Samonte, these accomplishments were made possible through him and his team’s dedication to engaging with the community and local organizations. Their success is a testament to what a bit of creativity and humanism can do.

“I started the company because I enjoy being creative with photos and video,” Samonte said. “One of my favorite memories is taking part in the Golden State Warriors Chase Center Grand Opening where we provided a custom fresh flower wall, custom signage, custom photo folders, on-site prints, and photography services.”

Samonte and his team continue to explore their creativity and capture those special moments. The team lives and works by their motto: “Making memories timeless…one shot at a time.”
