Salon Entro: Finding Passion on a Different Path

Monique V’Char has something many covet: a career in something she’s passionate about.

Monique is the owner of Salon Entro, a hair salon in Sacramento that prioritizes client needs while promoting proper hair care. Although the business owner loves her job, hairstyling wasn’t always the path she had in mind.

She began her career in real estate and property management. While her job provided stability, it did little to give her joy. So, Monique decided her happiness was worth a change in career and decided to pursue something she loved — hairstyling.

“What started off as a simple trim on my mother’s hair in the kitchen quickly grew into attending Federico Beauty Institute,” Monique said. “And shortly after, working with my longtime friend who founded Salon Entro.”

This friend invested in Monique and her career, and in 2017, she took over ownership of Salon Entro Sacramento. Her involvement with Salon Entro has even taken her to Charlotte, North Carolina to assist in the opening of a second location. For Monique, owning a business fulfills her, and her passion for the job makes her continually strive to provide the best service possible.

“As a small business, I am able to cater to my clients’ individual needs and take extra time to address concerns, show them how to style, and care for their hair at home,” Monique said.

Every client is met with personalized advice, and the business owner said she is always learning and mastering new techniques to make all their visions come to life. Her dedication to her craft means clients have trusted her with their hair for milestone events such as graduations and weddings. The greatest reward for her is seeing their happy selfies.

Monique said she knows how lucky she is to be doing something she loves, and hopes to support other hair-styling hopefuls take their first steps into the industry.

“Our vision at Salon Entro is to support other stylists like myself with their career paths in the hair industry,” Monique said. “As our business continues to grow, I hope to keep seeing lifelong clients who have become friends and welcome new faces to join the Salon Entro family.”
