Husband-and-Wife duo Serves Up Community Support at Family-Owned SushiQ Restaurant

Updated: Apr 13

Qui and Kim Tu are owners of Sushi Q, a husband and wife owned sushi restaurant in Elk Grove that uses fresh, high quality ingredients to create traditional and unique sushi dishes, cooked meals, drinks, and desserts. Inspired by their parents, who immigrated to America and instilled in them a strong work ethic, Qui and Kim built Sushi Q five years ago on a foundation of their 38 combined years of restaurant industry experience and their desire to give back to community through food.

Sushi Q is a small, family-owned restaurant with a unique vision and passion for food. It was founded by husband and wife duo, Qui Tu and Kim Tu, who have worked in the restaurant industry for over 38 years combined. In order to freely bring their creations to life, they opened their own restaurant in the summer of 2015.

Qui runs the kitchen as the chef, and Kim runs the front of the house. Together, they strive to deliver a relaxed and fun atmosphere for their guests to enjoy, using only fresh, high quality ingredients in every meal. Sushi Q is also a restaurant meant to give back to the community, providing delicious meals to customers and a positive and safe workplace for their employees. Qui and Kim understand the hardships that many Asian-Americans go through because of their own family experiences and they are committed to helping their community the best way they can.

Like many other small businesses, Sushi Q has been impacted by [COVID-19]. To comply with the stay-at-home order, they closed their dine-in service and are operating their delivery and takeout services. Unfortunately, they had to reduce half of their staff, but they are grateful to the remainder of their team members

who are keeping the business open, while still providing excellent service for their customers.

Qui and Kim are extremely grateful to their community and they admire the support and solidarity that has arisen in times of need. Despite the chaos, they noticed the community has a growing appreciation for the smaller things in life that may have been once taken for granted, such as eating out, and spending time with family and friends without fear.

Sushi Q is offering pre-orders over the phone for takeout, delivery within 5 miles for orders $50 and up, and delivery within 10 miles for orders $100 and up.

Even amid the pandemic, they are accepting resumes from people who are over the age of 18. They are in need of kitchen staff at their first location at 8325 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Suite #400. They are also need of staff for every department at their South Land Park location at 1339 Florin Rd Suite #B101. If you are interested, please submit a resume and availability time through email at SushiQElkGrove@gmail.com.
