A Fighting Spirit: How Adrian Blanco Jewelry Got Through the Pandemic Year

Adrian Blanco Jewelry is a known name in Folsom, but the owner’s journey in the jewelry industry began at 18 years old. After working for a mom and pop shop for 15 years, Adrian then transitioned to work in corporate business for two years. Despite his success there, he felt his heart pulled toward the community, and Adrian Blanco Jewelry was born.

The business offers custom jewelry design, jewelry and watch repair services, appraisals, and cleaning and maintenance. With an emphasis on the emotional value of jewelry, the business has developed a loyal customer base.

When March of 2020 changed the business landscape across all industries and like never before, Adrian Blanco Jewelry immediately responded and implemented safety protocols to protect both the team and their customers. Despite the pandemic and the changes made, Adrian remains confident in his business and its continued growth. He explained how the Folsom community rallied together, supporting and uplifting one another throughout the difficult times that continue to stretch on.

“We also had some amazing opportunities to give back, so we donated to a few schools and nonprofit organizations,” Adrian said. “Giving is a huge part of our core values.”

Today, Adrian describes his biggest challenge as a success: “We never anticipated how busy we were going to be, so the challenge has been being able to keep up with our demands,” he said.

While a successful business is an impressive accomplishment alone, especially enduring the last year and a half, Adrian sees success as a step toward even more valuable ideas. He said, “Success always equates to happiness and a strong community bond.”

That bond is helping make the business’ future plans a reality. Due to high demands and an increase in foot traffic, Adrian Blanco Jewelry is expanding from an 800 square foot space to a 1,700 square foot space in the Historic District of Folsom.

It’s not only his own business’ future that Adrian looks forward to witnessing, but others as well. He said, “What inspires me is watching other small businessowners pivot during this pandemic, never letting go of that fighting spirit, ensuring they never close their doors.”

He runs his business with the belief that if you take care of your community, the community will take care of you.

“Our beloved customers have proven that time and time again,” he said.
