Sponsored by SMUD and Regional Transit, The Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SACC), The Black Chamber of Commerce and The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Alliance) coordinate workshops for chamber members to understand the process to secure a contract with SMUD. Workshops are divided into two components, followed by a networking mixer for attendees to network with sponsors and chamber members.  Audience represents the Sacramento region down to southern California.   Attendees are given a portfolio with SMUD’s programs and a step by step manual to register online to access the bidding portal. In these workshops, business owners are able to ask questions, share their business ideas, and connect with SMUD and Regional Transit representatives. As the nation’s sixth-largest community-owned electric service provider, SMUD representatives vocalized red flags, and how to ensure their bid/application goes through the digital portal effortlessly and how to grow their business with SEED, SMUD’s Supplier Education and Economic Development Program providing local small businesses incentives to participate in SMUD’s competitive bid process.
