The mission of My Sister’s House is to address the needs of women and children affected by domestic violence in the Central Valley’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Besides culturally and linguistically appropriate assistance being offered, My Sister’s House maintains six safe beds for women and children in need. Since the Safe Haven shelter opened in 2003, they have provided more than 9000 bed nights of shelter to Asian and Pacific Islander women and children; Responded to over 1900 calls to our 24-hour multilingual Help Line; Served more than 250 domestic violence survivors of all ethnicities in their award-winning Women to Work program and have educated over 8000 people about domestic violence.
My Sister's House is fortunate to receive strong support from the community. They rely on the generosity and support of the community to keep their doors open and available to survivors of domestic violence. There are many ways you can help My Sister's House to be a safe haven for Asian & Pacific Islander women and children impacted by domestic violence. They receive donations in a variety of forms, from monetary giving to volunteer time. My Sister's House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your donations and gifts are tax-deductible.
There are also some great events coming up to support My Sister’s House including the sixth annual Fun Run for a Safe Haven on November 7th. I really like the fresh perspective you did on the issue. Really was not expecting that when I started off studying. Your concepts were easy to understand that I wondered why I never looked at it before. Glad to know that there’s an individual out there that definitely understands what he’s discussing. Great job!
